Meet The Ensemble Board of Directors.
Matt Marrone, President/Chair
Matt joined the Ensemble board in 2012 after a long history of supporting the theater. Matthew is an Army Veteran currently working for the local law firm Tarolli, Sundheim, Covell & Tummino LLP. Before practicing law, Mr. Marrone served as a logistical officer in the Ohio Army National Guard, deploying to both Kosovo and Kuwait. Additionally, Mr. Marrone taught Physics for two years at an international high school in Beijing, China. He is married to his beautiful wife Natsumi.
Scott Esposito, Vice-President/Vice Chair
Scott joined the Ensemble Board in 2013. Scott is Assistant General Counsel for University Hospitals Health System, Inc. with a practice that focuses on a wide variety of corporate and regulatory issues. In addition to practicing law, Scott is an actor who has performed in a variety of venues around Cleveland, including Ensemble Theatre. He also serves as an officer for the nonprofit corporation Dare2Care, which focuses on anti-bullying efforts and educational and leadership opportunities for local high school students. He is married to the love of his life, his fantastic husband, Vince.
Jessica Colombi, Secretary
Jessica V. Colombi is a proud participant in the Ensemble Theatre experience. Professionally, she currently serves as the Manager of Project Facilitation for the Vice President of University Engagement and Chief Diversity Officer at Cleveland State. She was previously Chief of Staff for prior Chancellor of Higher Education in Ohio, Eric Fingerhut. Jessica is a great appreciator of all performing arts, and has been been particularly excited about watching Ensemble evolve over the last two years. Ms. Colombi is without shy-ness when it comes to asking for support of this great entity, so don't be surprised if she shows up next to you, making the pitch! She believes in her core that Ensemble Theatre is a driver of economic advancement for the Coventry neighborhood, and is grateful to be a part of it.
Ian Hinz, Treasurer (bio to come)
Matt is a performing songwriter and guitar instructor by night, and the multimedia technician for Tri-C's Corporate College by day. An alumnus of Cleveland Heights High School, Matt has returned to Cleveland after receiving his Bachelors degree in Electronic Media Production from the University of Oregon, and then working as a sound editor for several years in Los Angeles. He is thrilled to serve on the board of directors for Ensemble, and occasionally makes an artistic contribution to our performances as a sound designer.
Benoy Joseph, PhD
Benoy joined the Ensemble Board in 2013. Following 35 years on the faculty of Cleveland State University, Benoy Joseph retired recently as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Marketing from CSU’s Monte Ahuja College of Business. He has degrees from the University of Dayton and Ohio State University. At Cleveland State, his responsibilities included teaching graduate business courses and directing the College’s baccalaureate and master’s programs, directing the College’s ongoing professional accreditation efforts, and advancing the College’s education, scholarship, and outreach mission. Benoy specializes in services and not-for-profit marketing, business-to-business marketing, consumer behavior, and business ethics. His research has appeared in a variety of national and international scholarly journals. Before entering academics, he worked in the marketing division of NCR Corporation. A consultant to various business and nonprofit organizations, Benoy has conducted strategic market planning seminars for nonprofit and professional service organizations and numerous customer satisfaction studies and public opinion polls for business and public sector organizations. He is a board member and past board chair of Kendal at Home, a not-for-profit provider of services for retirees.

Peter grew up in Shaker Heights and attended University School, where Ensemble Theatre founder Lucia Colombi was his mentor and 12th grade drama teacher. He was involved in Ensemble's production of Eugene O'Neill's The Hairy Ape in the summer of 1980 before heading to college at Yale. Peter spent much of his career in New York as a book and magazine publicist, and launched high profile projects by such bold names as Madonna, Norman Mailer, and Gore Vidal. An experienced marketing and communications professional specializing in arts and culture, Peter helped transition Cleveland Botanical Garden into a year-round visitor destination and served as its marketing director for many years. A lifelong theatre lover, Peter has been known to absorb 5 shows in one long weekend on trips to New York. He is thrilled to pick up where he left off with Ensemble some thirty years ago.
